About Us
The people behind Designing Writers Publications are a diverse group of writers and editors who initially joined together to create an outlet for the writings of the Writersville Gang, the members of the Yahoo group, The Writer's Life. (We have listed ourselves alphabetically, to make things easy.)
Ron Berry
Ron was born and raised on a farm, fifty plus years ago. He has greater than five years of post secondary education. That being said, he writes, makes beaded jewelry, and washes dishes to eke out an existence. He tends to give speeches that are overly technical, quite scientific and hopefully somewhat educational. Ron has written a few humorous pieces and has even garnered a few chuckles at the toastmaster meetings.

Irene Smith
A published author of fiction and non-fiction, including conceptual and reference materials for computer programmers, she is a former employee of Microsoft Corporation where she wrote documentation for their database objects from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, following her father's stroke, she moved back to New York State with her husband and son and returned to the life of a freelancer.
Gaming has been a prime enticement for Irene from the beginning. She bought her first computer in order to play games and still spends as much time as she can find playing computer games. In addition to playing them, she also writes computer games and, in 1994, she published three computer game packages (Solitaire, Dice Games, and Casino Games) through SofSource. You might have seen her games in K-Mart or Electronics Boutique.
